Smoked Stuffed Mushrooms

Cremini mushrooms packed with a smoky bacon and cream cheese filling — a crowd-pleasing appetizer straight from the smoker.

Ingredients

  • 1pkgcremini mushrooms (stems removed)
  • 8ozcream cheese (softened)
  • 6piecebacon (cooked and chopped)
  • 3green onions (chopped)
  • cupshredded Parmesan cheese
  • ½tspgarlic powder
  • salt (to taste)

Optional

  • 1/2tspred pepper flakes
  • 1/3cupShredded Mozzarella Cheese (mix together parmesan. Use 1/3 cup in the mix and 1/3 to melt on top)

Instructions

Heat smoker to 220°F.

Mix all ingredients together except mushrooms, setting aside one strip of bacon.

Overfill each mushroom cap with the cream cheese mixture.

Slice remaining bacon crosswise into small pieces and place 2–3 pieces on each mushroom.

Smoke at 220°F for 20 minutes. Increase heat to 350°F and cook 15 more minutes until mushrooms are soft. With about 5 minutes left to cook, place a small amount of shredded cheese on top of each stuffed mushroom and let melt. Remove from smoker and let cool for a few minutes before eating.
